How to Combine Certificates into One PDF
Reviewed and updated August 21, 2026
Application portals often want one PDF instead of many images.
Steps
- Convert each certificate with JPG to PDF or start from existing PDFs
- Open Merge PDF
- Order documents as required by the form
- Compress if there is a size cap
Choose an order the reviewer can follow
Follow the application instructions when they specify an order. Otherwise, group related documents logically—for example identity documents, academic certificates, experience records, and supporting evidence. Keep front and back scans together.
Combine images and existing PDFs
- Convert certificate photos or scans with JPG to PDF
- Open each result and confirm orientation
- Add all PDFs to Merge PDF
- Drag files into the required order
- Download and inspect every page
- Compress the complete packet if necessary
Protect important details
Do not compress so strongly that names, registration numbers, seals, signatures, or QR codes become unreadable. Keep a high-quality master and create a separate upload copy. Redact unrelated personal information only when the receiving organization does not require it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can certificates with different orientations be merged?
Yes. Rotate each scan before merging so the reviewer does not need to turn individual pages.
What should I name the combined file?
Follow the portal rule. When none is given, use a short descriptive filename with letters, numbers, hyphens, or underscores.
